FCA US is recalling 26,299 2015-2016 model-year Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, 2016 MY Dodge Journey SUVs, and 2016 MY Ram ProMaster vans because of potential motive power loss.

In these vehicles, the transmission pump may seize, causing a loss of hydraulic pressure. As a result, the vehicles may lose motive power, increasing the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Dealers will replace the transmission pumps, free of charge. The recall was due to begin on Aug. 18.

Vehicle owners can reach Chrysler customer service at (800) 853-1403. FCA’s number for this recall is S44.
