Donlen's president Tom Callahan has been named the winner of the Gold Executive of the Year American Business Stevie Award in the Automotive, Transport Equipment and Transportation category in The 14th annual American Business awards. Donlen was also awarded the Silver Company of the Year American Business Stevie Award at a June 20 ceremony.

The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning "crowned," the awards were presented to the winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.

"I am honored and humbled to be recognized by the American Business Awards for this prestigious recognition," said Callahan. "My 10 years at Donlen have been the highlight of my career. It has been rewarding to work with each Donlen employee who is dedicated to the complete satisfaction of our customers."

Callahan has deep roots in the automotive and commercial fleet industries. He began his career at Ford Motor Company where he held various sales and management roles including field sales, merchandising, and operations. Additionally, he held global leadership positions in general management, sales management, product development, quality, and operations in North America, United Kingdom, Japan, and Australasia with GE Commercial Finance — Fleet Services and GE Consumer Finance.

In his role as president, Callahan is a member of the Hertz Executive Committee. In addition, he has served as President of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA).

More than 3,400 nominations from organizations of various sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.
