FCA US is recalling 275,614 2012-2015 model-year Dodge Journey SUVs because water leaking into the car might disable the anti-lock brake or electronic stability control systems and cause a loss of vehicle stability, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The recall covers vehicles manufactured from April 21, 2012, to April 14 of this year. In these SUVs, water may enter the wiring harness for the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module and leak into the module. This could disable the ABS, electronic stability control (ESC) system or both.

Dodge dealers will seal the ABS wiring harness to prevent water from entering. They will also replace the ABS module and repair the headlamp and dash wiring harness if needed. These repairs will be performed free of charge, NHTSA said.

Vehicle owners can reach Dodge customer service at (800) 853-1403. The number that FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) is using for this recall is R61.
