General Motors on Aug. 19 began recalling 63,665 Cadillac ATS vehicles in the 2013-2016 model years so dealers can replace the sunroof console accessory switch trim plate, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

GM manufactured the cars subject to this recall from April 25, 2012, to June 25 of this year.

In these vehicles, the roof panel switch isn’t recessed so it’s more likely to be pressed inadvertently. If the sunroof happens to be open, such contact can lead to unintended auto-closure and pose an injury risk, NHTSA said. This condition doesn’t comply with federal safety standards.

Vehicle owners can reach Cadillac customer service at (800) 458-8006. GM’s number for this recall is 15568. This recall supersedes a previous one.
