FCA US is recalling 144,416 Dodge Journey SUVs in the 2011 to 2015 model years so dealers can address a fire risk linked to the engine cover, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The vehicles at issue were manufactured from July 19, 2010, to May 26 of this year. They are all equipped with 2.4L engines. In these vehicles, the engine cover may detach from the engine and contact the exhaust manifold. Such contact would pose a fire risk, NHTSA said.

Dodge dealers will install an improved mounting system for the engine cover, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Aug. 26.

Vehicle owners can reach Dodge customer service at (800) 853-1403. The FCA US number for this recall is R32.
