Toyota is recalling 3,013 Lexus NX200t SUVs in the 2015 model year because the anti-lock braking system (ABS) actuator may be defective and create a loss of vehicle stability, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The ABS actuator in these vehicles controls the anti-lock braking, traction control and vehicle stability control systems. A component within the ABS actuator may have suffered damage during assembly, creating the potential for malfunction, NHTSA said.

The Lexus NX200t vehicles at issue were manufactured from Dec. 18, 2014, to Feb. 2 of this year.

Dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in early July. Vehicle owners can reach Toyota customer service at (800) 331-4331.
