General Motors plans to begin delivering its 2015 bi-fuel CNG Chevrolet Impala this summer following a yearlong delay to iron out a concern involving the sedan.

General Motors announced in the fall of 2013 that it would produce the vehicle and begin deliveries in the summer of 2014. General Motors plans to produce the vehicle for the 2016 model year as well.

"We have voluntarily delayed delivery on initial orders to ensure the technology performs with the highest quality standards," according to a company statement provided to Automotive Fleet. "We stand behind our products; the vehicle is fully covered by GM’s limited warranty. We have identified a solution to the delay and are working hard to implement it within the next few months."
