Volkswagen is recalling 3,646 2015 model-year Audi Q3 sedans because the sunroof is at risk for injuring a vehicle occupant while being closed shut, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

If the driver shuts off the car while the sunroof is in the process of closing, the sunroof may continue to close even if something, such as an occupant’s hand, is in the way. This malfunction poses an injury risk and isn’t in compliance with federal safety standards.

To fix the problem, Audi dealers will update the sunroof control module. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall got under way April 13. Vehicle owners can reach Audi customer service at (800) 253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 60C1.
