Jaguar will produce its first luxury SUV for the 2016 model year called the F-Pace that's based on its C-X17 concept car, the automaker announced during the week of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The five-seat F-Pace gets the "F" signifier to link it to Jaguar's flagship F-Type sports coupe, according to the automaker.

The F-Pace "offers a unique combination of Jaguar-sports-car inspired exterior design, fused beautifully with a thoroughly practical and spacious luxury interior," according to Jaguar.

The F-Pace will be built in Solihull, United Kingdom. Additional details will be released later this year.
