General Motors' Buick nameplate introduced a concept luxury sedan named the Avenir, which means "future" in French, at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.

The Avenir offers a direct-injected V-6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission, according to Buick.

The sportier sedan sits on 21-inch wheels. The exterior takes inspiration from older models. The vehicle’s long hood and rear deck resembles the Riviera, while the grille is a modern interpretation of the 1954 Wildcat II concept.

Some of the other vehicle highlights are the driver-selectable suspension damping, twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system, next-generation Buick IntelliLink infotainment with large, and 12-inch-diagonal color touch screen. This system can also connect to devices at home, allowing drivers to monitor security camers or close the garage door remotely.

The Avenir also has personal connectivity features like USB ports and video screens to allow drivers and passengers to plug in their favorite media, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot through OnStar.
