American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 43,481 2014-2015 model-year Acura MDX SUVs and 2014 RLX sedans because of faulty seat belts, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The driver and front passenger seat belts may not extend or retract in low temperatures, NHTSA said. The recall affects Acura MDX SUVs manufactured from April 23, 2013, to Aug. 25 of this year. Also included are Acura RLX sedans manufactured from Nov. 5, 2012, to Nov. 25, 2013.

Honda dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat belts, free of charge. The recall began last month.

Vehicle owners can reach Acura customer service at (800) 382-2238. Honda's number for this recall is JK7 for the MKX, and JK8 for the RLX.
