Tesla Motors has pushed back production of its Model X battery-electric SUV to late 2015 due to manufacturing constraints, the company has announced.

The automaker announced the move in its Q3 earnings letter to investors, reports Engadget. CEO Elon Musk later confirmed the move and on an investor call said the company "needs to hit production scale" to identify any flaws in the process.

The Model X has been delayed several times since Musk first unveiled it in February of 2012.
