The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has contracted Clean Energy Fuels to build a travel center offering compressed natural gas (CNG), biodiesel, and charging stations for battery-electric vehicles near O’Hare International Airport.

The 4,000-square-foot fueling station will be located at the Southeast corner of Higgins Road and Patton Drive.

The station is set to open in early 2016, according to a press release from the CDA. PMG Airport Developers and Clean Energy Fuels will build and operate the alternative fueling station.

The CDA says the station will offer more convenient access to alternative fuels for taxis, hotel and rental car shuttles. The station will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
