CHICAGO - Ford Motor Co. said that the all-new Ford Focus Electric rewrites the owner's manual, as far as regular maintenance requirements are concerned. That's because the battery electric drivetrain in the Focus Electric reduces the number of moving mechanical components compared with a conventional internal combustion-engine vehicle.

As a result, Focus Electric drivers will spend far less time and money on maintenance, Ford said.

According to Ford, here are 25 items that the driver of a Ford Focus Electric won't need to worry about, despite the fact that these parts usually require inspection, maintenance or replacement during the 10-year, 150,000-mile life of a conventional car:
