BOBIT

Mike Antich, editor and associate publisher of Automotive Fleet magazine, gave his perspective on the legacy of Ed Bobit during a special bonus episode of Fleetcast, a bimonthly fleet management podcast produced by Merchants Fleet Management.

Antich was interviewed by Dennis Cavagnaro, director of marketing for Merchants Fleet Management. In the eight-minute interview, Antich recounted Ed Bobit’s impact on the fleet management industry, the early years leading up to the founding of Automotive Fleet magazine in 1961, and Bobit’s legacy as one of the last surviving members of the 40 fleet visionaries who co-founded the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) in 1969.

Earlier this month, in Episode 30, Antich was interviewed by Jessica Heizer of Fleetcast on fleet management trends occurring today and provided a forecast of future trends for the 2015 calendar-year.

Antich has the distinction of being the first interviewee of Fleetcast in April 2011, when he discussed “Future Trends in Fleet Management.” The free-wheeling, wide-ranging discussion was broken out into three separate, consecutive episodes.

All five Fleetcast interviews given by Antich can be found here. Earlier this year, Antich wrote of his reminiscences of Ed Bobit in Market Trends blog, “My Remembrances of Ed Bobit.”
