Copper Mountain has implemented Modular Mining Systems, Inc.'s DISPATCH Fleet Management System (FMS) at its mine in southern British Columbia, Canada.

The 18,000 acre site is designed to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, with a mine rate of 175,000 tons per day. Implementation of Modular’s DISPATCH FMS will enable the mine to optimize production from its fleet of 21 haul trucks and four loading units, according to Modular.

Fleet management systems allow mines to maximize production, minimize risk and reduce the overall fleet operating cost. “Many mines do not consider the purchase of a fleet management system as a capital savings during an expansion plan,” said Greg Lanz, general manager North America, at Modular. “Our primary goal is to help Copper Mountain meet or exceed their production goals as an alternative to simply adding haulage capacity.”

Copper Mountain’s production facility commenced operations in 2011 and currently has a 17+ year expected lifespan.
