American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 14,078 Acura ILX and ILX Hybrid entry-level luxury sedans in the 2013 and 2014 model years because the cars might have defective headlights, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

Overly high temperatures around the bulb and reflector unit may diminish the output of the headlight and also pose a fire risk, NHTSA said.

Honda dealers will replace the headlights, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin on July 28. Vehicle owners can reach Acura customer service at 1-800-862-2872. Honda's number for this recall is JE9.
