General Motors increased sales of fleet vehicles by 5 percent in March, as well as increasing retail sales by 8 percent, the automaker announced.

Among its fleet segments to commercial, government, and rental buyers, General Motors increased sales to commercial fleets by 11 percent during the month. Sales to smaller business users rose 14 percent.

General Motors reported strong sales of its pickups and SUVs, as it anticipates several important product introductions in the coming months. The 2015 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV began arriving in showrooms in April. The Cadillac ATS coupe arrives in the summer.

Also, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickup trucks will arrive in the fall. The Chevrolet City Express cargo van arrives in the fourth quarter.
