A new taxi service launching in Louisville, Ky.,plans to introduce a fleet of 100 gasoline-electric hybrids once it obtains a state license to operate.

Taxi 7, which will provide transportation service in Jefferson County, will deploy Ford C-Max hybrids as well as a few Toyota Sienna vans to transport people with disabilities, reports the Courier-Journal.

Taxi 7 will be the state's first hybrid fleet and will also offer a smartphone app allowing passengers to follow the progress of the car before service.
