Kia Motors America has significantly redesigned its Sedona minivan for 2015, adding a sportier body style, more interior space, a new powertrain, and next-gen infotainment system.

The 2015 Sedona, which will be shown at the New York International Auto Show, offers additional legroom and front shoulder room, even though the overall width and height remain unchanged.

"Throughout the development process, our engineers in the U.S. and Korea focused on adding the element of desire to the all-new Sedona with improved driving dynamics and power and the incorporation of modern styling cues, premium materials and technology," said Orth Hedrick, Kia's vice president of product planning.

Under the hood, the 2015 Sedona gets a new 3.3L V-6 engine to replace the 3.5L V-6 in the previous model. The Lambda Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine delivers 276 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. Kia pairs the new V-6 with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Sedona also gets Kia's next-gen UVO infotainment and telematics system with new features such as Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, and Driving Score. Drivers can download apps from Kia's new app store.
