Mercury Associates has set up a Canadian fleet management office in a Toronto suburb and hired two fleet management professionals, the company announced.

The Rockville, Md.,-based fleet management company opened an office in Midhurst, Ontario, on April 7. Mercury Associates has also hired Katherine Vigneau, CAFM, as a senior manager and Bannu Hurtig as a senior consultant.

Vigneau served in the Canadian Army for 26 years where she managed the Army's fleet of more than 32,000 vehicles. Prior to her retirement, Vigneau served as a logistics section chief for NATO's Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway.

Hurtig joins the company following her retirement from Bell Canada Enterprises, where she managed a telecommunications fleet of more than 13,000 vehicles.

Mercury's fleet clients in Canada have included BC Hydro, Bell Canada, EPCOR, Horizon Utilities, National Express Corp., Shell Canada, Suncor Energy, and several municipalities.
