Gasoline Rises Above $3.30 Per Gallon

The national average price of gasoline crossed above $3.30 per gallon for the first time in more than a month, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported.

The price of gasoline rose 1.7 cents to $3.309 per gallon for the week ending Monday. Gasoline has remained under $3.30 since the week ending Jan. 6, when it reached $3.332 per gallon. The current price is now 30.2 cents below where it was a year ago.

Prices rose in most of the regions tracked. The Midwest led the increase, rising 4.9 cents to $3.282. The East Coast, including the Central Atlantic and Lower Atlantic subregions, fell nine-tenths of a cent. In the AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report, Montana remained as the lowest priced state at $3.033 per gallon. Hawaii remains above $4 per gallon ($4.034).

Meanwhile, the average price of diesel rose 2.6 cents to $3.977 per gallon. Diesel is 12.7 cents below where it was a year ago.
