The Chinese automotive market grew almost 14 percent in 2013, becoming the first country in history to surpass 20 million sales in a calendar year, according to reports by Bloomberg and the AFP.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers is predicting 2014 will see another 10 percent rise in sales, according to the Bloomberg.

However, according to the reports, the problems pollution and a traffic congestion and a government drive to cut lavish spending, could curtail automotive growth.
