The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) honored a Motorlease vice president at a November business event to highlight the contribution of family businesses to the state's economic development.

Joseph M. Pelehach was honored at the "Celebrate Connecticut's Family Business" event on Nov. 12 at the Aqua Turf in Southington.

The event is part of CBIA's Family Business Program. Pelehach was one of 25 honorees representing 12 businesses. CBIA is Connecticut's largest business organization with 10,000 member companies.

Pelehach is the a vice president overseeing the Northeast Region and a sales team. He joined Motorlease as a sales trainee in 1988. He later became one of the company's most successful sales representatives. He was promoted to account executive, senior account executive, and regional manager. In 2009, Motorlease shareholders elected Pelehach to the Board of Directors.

Pelehach is an active member of his community in Canton. He has coached little league baseball, softball, basketball and soccer for more than a decade, and served on the town planning commission.
