In two separate actions, Altec Industries is recalling 270 aerial devices for work trucks, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

Altec is a leading provider for the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, lights and signs, and contractor markets.

In one action, Altec is recalling 50 2008-2009 model-year Altec LLC/LIFT-ALL LSS aerial devices manufactured December 2008 through October 2009. Cracks may develop in the turntable, which may lead to aerial device failure and pose a safety risk.

Altec will notify owners to inspect the turntable. A stiffener repair kit will be installed on the turntable, free of charge.

Altec's number for this recall is CSN 582.

In the other action, Altec is recalling 220 2002-2010 model-year AH75, AH85 and AH100 aerial devices equipped with square pedestals. In the affected vehicles, the aerial device may develop cracks between the pedestal and the unit sub-base. This condition may also lead to aerial device failure and pose a hazard.

Altec will ask owners to inspect the pedestal and look for any cracks. If any cracks are found, the pedestal will be repaired free of charge. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 580.

Truck owners can reach Altec at 1-800-860-0183.
