Mercedes detailed fuel economy numbers for its 2013-MY diesel-fueled GLK250 BlueTEC 4MATIC SUV, which arrived in U.S. showrooms at the end of April. The automaker said the vehicle gets 24 city, 33 highway miles per gallon, which leads the segment in fuel economy, according to Mercedes.

Under the hood, the diesel engine is rated at 200 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine uses the AdBlue water-based urea solution to ensure the vehicle meets emissions standards in all 50 U.S. states.

New safety features on the GLK250 BlueTEC 4MATIC beyond what’s available for the other GLK models include Attention Assist, which is standard, and the optional Distronic Plus system with Pre-Safe Brake, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist. Active Parking Assist is also available as an option.

The GLK250 BlueTEC 4MATIC is available starting at an MSRP of $38,590, excluding the $905 destination charge.
