A new expert training session targeting international fleet, procurement and finance managers who are responsible for fleets in more than three European countries has been organized by the International Fleet Managers’ Institute in Brussels.

The day-long session, on Wednesday May 29, at the Hotel Brussels Airport Van der Valk, will consider the very latest developments in managing international vehicle fleets.

Highlights will include a presentation on running effective tenders plus a case study of his own fleet from Joe Carreira, fleet manager EMEA of global healthcare provider, MSD, and current joint holder of the International Fleet Manager of the Year title.

The expert training session has been specially designed to provide insight into the key elements for successful fleet management, according to the organizers. It will examine the different cost elements of running an international fleet, including lease rental, tax, and variable and end of contract costs.

It will also consider how to identify international and external stakeholders, what to manage internationally, where and how to get fleet data, how to launch a tender process and implement the outcome and, finally, how to measure fleet management success.

Other sessions during the day will look at the building blocks of international fleet management and procurement, along with defining international fleet strategy. Speakers will include Marc Van Eck, regional sales manager for ALD International and Nathalie De Vries, consultant for LeasePlan International.

In the afternoon session, a roundtable discussion, moderated by Joe Carreira, will look at the success factors for fleet strategy optimization, while tax expert Bart Vanham will consider the trends and alternative solutions in international fleet management.

In the evening following the seminar, sponsor Toyota Motor Europe will be hosting a dinner for all delegates. All participants will also get free access to the Smart Mobility Forum and Awards held at the same venue on the following day, May 30.

Later this year, the autumn expert session will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on November 20 when the topic will be ‘the successful integration of Eastern Europe in international fleet management’.
