ARI has hired Brian Matuszewski as its Manager of Sustainable Strategies. The company said he will be responsible for ARI’s internal and external sustainability programs and initiatives.

According to ARI, Matuszewski worked as a project strategist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Sustainable Materials Management. He also worked as an analyst for a consulting firm in Mexico City, Mexico, where he conducted environmental policy research on sustainable development initiatives for governments and multinational corporations. Other positions Matuszewski has held include Bloomberg, L.P. and with Banco Itaú in São Paulo, Brazil. Matuszewski has a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and an M.P.A. in Environmental Policy: Sustainable Enterprise Strategy from Cornell University.

In terms of its approach to fleet sustainability, ARI said it focuses on working with its customers to identify ways to reduce fuel consumption, integrate alternative fuel use into their fleets, positively modify driver behavior, measure emissions, and verify regulatory compliance.
