The next driver's license you get in Kansas may include more than your name, address and picture. If a bill approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 6, 2002 becomes law, licenses issued by the state could include a thumbprint or other "biometric identifier" to make it harder to obtain a false ID. The measure was sponsored by Sen. Barbara Allen, an Overland Park Republican. Allen said the bill is aimed at those who use a driver's license to commit identity theft.
