Sandra Koelzer, the long-time corporate fleet manager for Apple Inc. in Cupertino, Calif., retired on Dec. 31, 2021, and she has not been replaced. Apple was one of the few high-tech companies that offered a company-provided fleet program.

Koelzer joined Apple in 1981 and created the global risk management department. “During those busy first years, the vehicle fleet program evolved within the risk management department. I retired from working in 1999 but returned to Apple in 2004 as fleet manager. I recently retired (for good!) in December 2021,” said Koelzer.

Among her extracurricular activities, Koelzer used to sing with the California Bach Society. Her favorite “sit still” past time is doing jigsaw puzzles. She also likes the outdoors and one of her proud accomplishments was to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Her first car was a 1959 Riley. She also built a high-performance engine and installed it in a 1956 VW Bug.
