KIA America and Currently Mobile Charging Service announce partnership to "recharge" electric vehicle ownership.

KIA of America

Kia America is partnering with Currently mobile charging service to provide its electric vehicle (EV) owners with an on-demand concierge service in three important California markets: San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose. Based on customer reception of this pilot program, future Kia America will consider providing the same service to other notable American city markets.

From now until April 30, the automaker is offering free service to participants in these cities for the chance to use the app-based mobile charging service when requested. To use the service, current Kia EV owners need to download the Currently app from Google Play or Apple’s App Store and create an account. The service then allows drivers to set a location and time for a Currently technician to arrive and charge their vehicle up to three times every week for two months.

“The relationship with our customers does not end after delivery,” said Greg Silvestri, KIA’s vice president of service operations. “In fact, that is just the beginning, and partnering with Currently to offer complimentary charging connects perfectly to our larger 'Plan S' strategy and amplifies our commitment to overall electrified vehicle adoption.”

Kia always hopes to expand its portfolio of electrified vehicles and enhance the ownership experience, especially among new customers.

“We couldn't be happier to partner with Kia to give their electrified vehicle drivers the convenience of mobile charge delivery,” said Josh Aviv, CEO/founder of SparkCharge, the parent company of Currently. “We created Currently to make ownership of these vehicles more convenient and accessible.”
