Leasys has won a significant tender to provide vehicles for the Italian postal service.

The deal for Poste Italiane is for 13,647 vehicles under an operating lease - which more than doubles the postal service’s current fleet - will be deployed in the North-East and the Centre-South of Italy.

The FCA Bank-owned subsidiary says that more than 2000 of the vehicles supplied will be fully electric, representing nearly 15% of the supplied fleet. These include the Opel Corsa-e and Peugeot e-Expert commercial vehicles. Meanwhile 11,000 vehicles will be from the Fiat and Fiat Professional brands, 300 from Iveco and the remainder from other brands outside the Stellantis group of companies.

More than 1300 vehicles will also be used by Poste Italiane's corporate car sharing service, which will be managed by Leasys with the support of its technological partner Targa Telematics.

The Poste Italiane tendering process began in November. Leasys says the first orders under the deal will arrive within the year.
