Average national diesel prices hit $2.50 per gallon as of Nov. 30, 2020.

National average diesel fuel prices were $2.50 per gallon as of Nov. 30, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. This current uptick is higher than prices in late June and late August and is reaching peaks not seen since mid April.

This is a $0.04 increase from the previous week, with overall national average prices down around 57 cents per gallon compared to same time last year. Prices have continued to remained relatively stable since early May. This current uptick is higher than prices in late June and late August and is reaching peaks not seen since mid April.

So far in 2020, a peak of $3.08 occured the week of Jan. 6 and diesel prices had, on average, declined or remained stable since then. Prices have now experienced a steady rise throughout the entire month of November 2020.

National average gasoline prices are still down year-over-year but are also seeing a minor increase week-over-week with U.S. national averages hitting $2.12 per gallon as of Nov. 30, 2020.

Current average diesel prices by region have continued to decrease between $0.17 and $0.45 year-over-year, according to the EIA, a smaller week-over-week from the previous report. All regions saw a slight increase week-over-week. 

  • East Coast: $2.54
  • Midwest: $2.40
  • Gulf Coast: $2.25
  • Rocky Mountains: $2.54
  • West Coast: $3.04
