Ford will reveal details of its new, zero-emission, all-electric E-Transit van on Nov. 12, 2020.
Ford President and CEO Jim Farley, along with members of Ford's Commercial Vehicle team, will have a virtual unveiling of the new E-Transit on Nov. 12 at 9:00 AM EST.
Earlier this year, Ford announced the Ford E-Transit would hit the U.S. market for the 2022 model-year. It will be made available with several chassis options and is aimed at helping businesses achieve sustainability goals and a lower cost of ownership, the automaker said.
The all-electric E-Transit, which will be American-built, is part of Ford’s more than $11.5 billion investment in electrification through 2022. The all-electric Ford Transit chassis options will include cargo van, cutaway and chassis cab, plus three roof heights and three body lengths.
A recent survey from Ford revealed that customers across the globe are increasingly considering the environmental impact of deliveries. Here is a snapshot below on some of the results of the survey:
- Care about their carbon footprint. Over 60% of Americans and 68% of British citizens care about the environmental impact of delivering goods to their homes.
- Open to electrified delivery services. In all three countries surveyed (U.S., U.K., Germany), half of respondents said they’d choose a green delivery service over a gas-powered one if price and arrival times were the same, with 54% in the U.S. and nearly 60% in the U.K. saying the same.
- Wait longer to be ‘green’: Even if they had to wait longer for a delivery via zero emissions vans, close to half of Americans and British citizens said they would do so.
