Prime Design, the innovator of drop down ladder racks for fleet vehicles, introduces a new product that makes accessing equipment on high-roof cargo vans safer.

The Rear Access Ladder eliminates using a slippery tire or bumper as a step surface, providing superior stability in accessing roof cargo.  The ladder is presently available for the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, and RAM ProMaster chassis.  Later this year ladder models will be available for the Nissan NV Cargo, Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana.

Weighing less than 20 pounds, the product installs in minutes without drilling (click here to watch the demo video).

Made from anodized aluminum, the ladder resists corrosion from harsh road chemicals and provides Prime Design’s standard three-year warranty.

Prime Design introduced the ladder concept for North American vans at the 2015 NTEA Work Truck Show.  Since then, the company has worked with customers in finalizing the design.  The company has produced a similar design for European vans for several years.

“We anticipate the rear access ladder being an attractive solution for enhancing personal safety,” said Tom Seifert, product and customer service manager at Prime Design.
