Industry icon, past NAFA president, and Fleet Hall of Fame inductee, Ray Breault, retired on Feb. 4, concluding a 59-year career in fleet management.

Breault’s first fleet assignment occurred in 1959 while employed at HoffmannLaRoche (now Roche) in Nutley, N.J. In that year, Breault was given management responsibility of the company car program.

In 1977, Breault joined Revlon Cosmetics Inc. as national director of fleet operations. After retiring from Revlon in 1990, he joined Rental Concepts Inc. (now Fleet Response) as regional sales manager, He provided an innovative car rental program to corporate fleets in the Northeast territory. Officially retiring in 1998, he returned to Fleet Response as a part-time Northeast sales service representative, a position he held until his decision to completely retire from the industry on Feb. 4, 2018.

Breault is one of the early pioneers of fleet. He was a Round Table Group member, which was the precursor to NAFA. Breault joined NAFA in 1960 and later the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA). He served at all NAFA New York chapter levels and on the NAFA Board of Governors, where he held all positions except treasurer. From 1977-1979, Breault served as NAFA president. When he joined Fleet Response, Breault become an affiliate member, serving in four Eastern Region chapters. In recognition of this work, Breault received the Outstanding Chapter Service award in 2004.

Breault was inducted in the Fleet Hall of Fame in 2008.
