One of the advantages to transitioning your fleet from sedans to SUVs is the added passenger and cargo space. Fully redesigned for 2017, the new Jeep Compass offers more than 60 cubic feet of cargo space and a number of features designed to add capacity and versatility to your fleet. Better yet, the Compass compares favorably to mid-size sedans in price, fuel economy, and total cost of ownership.

Let's take a closer look at each of the advanced cargo features built into every new Jeep Compass:

1. Height-Adjustable Cargo Floor

The rear cargo area of the 2017 Jeep Compass features a unique, user-friendly, height-adjustable floor. It slides in and down to one of three positions:

  • Floor Low: The floor is positioned for maximum cargo space, which can be increased by opting for an available compact spare tire or inflator kit rather than a full-size spare.
  • Floor Mid: The floor is raised to the same level as the rear seats, creating a flat floor when the seats are folded down.
  • Floor Up: The floor is flipped up to maximize floor-to-ceiling height and create a barrier between the cargo hold and the rear seats.

With the inflator kit option and the height-adjustable floor in the Floor Low position, the new Jeep Compass can accommodate nearly 60 cubic feet of cargo.

2. Fold-Flat Seats

Every 2017 Jeep Compass comes with a standard 60/40 split rear bench, and the front passenger seat can fold forward. With the height-adjustable cargo floor set to the middle position and the rear seats and front passenger seat folded down, drivers can create a flat cargo floor that extends from the glovebox to the rear bumper. Adding the seat area to the cargo hold yields a maximum capacity of 62.7 cubic feet.2. 3. Power Rear Liftgate

For the first time, the new Jeep Compass comes equipped with a power rear liftgate. Paired with front doors that swing wide and rear-seat entries with ample head clearance, the new design of the Compass makes it easy to get passengers and cargo in and out.

4. Extra Storage Space

In addition to the ample cargo space, the 2017 Jeep Compass features a number of storage compartments. There is room for smaller items in the glovebox and under the center armrest, pockets in all four doors, and a notebook- or tablet computer-sized mesh side pocket in the front passenger seat footwell.

5. Rooftop Cargo Options

Every new Jeep Compass features roof rails as standard equipment. The rails feature anchoring points and can hold crossmembers for additional tie-down points and stability. Fleet buyers also can choose from a number of available roof racks.
