Ford's Mustang GT can achieve zero to 60 mph in less than four seconds in Drag Strip mode, a feature that makes the muscle car faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera, according to the automaker.

Engineers reworked the Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V-8 to provide more horsepower and torque output so it can achieve maximum acceleration in the available mode, according to Ford. The fast acceleration has also been enabled by Ford's new 10-speed transmission.

The 2018 Mustang GT will not crank out 460 hp (25 more hp) and 420 lb.-ft. of torque (20 lb.-ft. more) over the 2017 model.

The 2018 Mustang GT will arrive at dealer lots in the fall.
