Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 1,007 2017-model year Passat cars because brake fluid might leak slowly from the some of the brake line connections, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“A low brake fluid level may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA warned on its website.

Volkswagen dealers will replace the affected brake lines, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in March.

Vehicle owners can reach Volkswagen customer service at (800) 893-5298. Volkswagen’s number for this recall is 47N3.
