Subaru will include Magellan's SmartGPS navigation in vehicles equipped with the Subaru StarLink platform, according to a release by the automaker.

Magellan's SmartGPS navigation iOS and Android apps for connected cars bring Magellan's smartphone navigation to Subaru vehicles through its connection with the StarLink platform. The SmartGPS navigation app also provides a voice-guided full navigation.

SmartGPS navigation for Subaru will use an advanced cloud-based mapping solution. This ensures customers that their maps for GPS navigation are never outdated. The Subaru StarLink app also brings continuously updated cloud applications to the vehicle's center stack display.

The automaker's infotainment system uses Clarion's advanced Smart Access cloud connectivity platform to seamlessly sync and control cloud-based applications directly through the infotainment system's screen, providing immediate access to Magellan's SmartGPS navigation.

The automaker has not yet announced which vehicles will have this added feature.
