FCA Recalls Chrysler 200 for Stalling

FCA US is recalling 77,834 Chrysler 200 sedans because they’re at risk for stalling, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The 2015 model-year vehicles were manufactured from Jan. 7 to Sept. 23 in 2014. According to NHTSA, the power distribution center (PDC) electrical connector in these cars may cause intermittent power failures to certain electrical components. As a result, stalling might occur without warning.

Chrysler dealers will replace the C4 connector using a 12-wire split kit for 3.6L engines, or replace the transmission wiring harness for 2.4L engines, free of charge.

The parts needed for the recall, however, are currently unavailable. Vehicle owners will be notified of the recall on or around Sept. 18. Second notifications will be mailed when remedy parts become available, NHTSA said.
