Toyota is recalling 226 2015 model-year Yaris cars because they may have improperly tightened rear axle bearing bolts, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

These bolts may loosen during vehicle operation and lead to wheel lockup or rear brake component damage, posing a safety risk, NHTSA said. The cars were manufactured from Sept. 8, 2014, to Jan. 9 of this year.

Toyota dealers will inspect the rear axle bearing bolts and tighten them as necessary. This service will be free of charge. The recall begins this month.

Car owners can reach Toyota customer service at (800) 331-4331.
