Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 61,793 2013-2015 model-year Range Rover and 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport SUVs because the front-seat passenger’s air bag may not deploy properly if the occupant is an adult of small stature.

In such a case, the occupant classification system (OCS) may mistakenly classify the front-seat passenger and disable the air bag.

To fix the problem, dealers will update the OCS software, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. There will be no charge for the service.

The recall is set to begin April 17. The automaker’s number for this recall is P059.

Vehicle owners can reach Land Rover Range Rover customer service at (800) 637-6837.
