Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 159,000 2013-2014 model-year Focus ST hatchbacks and Escape crossovers with turbocharged 2.0-liter engines in North America, Reuters reports.

Because of a supplier manufacturing glitch, a wiring harness problem may lead to the transmission of faulty signals to the powertrain control module and affect engine performance. Poor electrical connections may be the source of the problem. Ford dealers will make the needed repairs free of charge.

No crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue, Ford told Reuters. About 133,000 of the vehicles are in the U.S., with the rest in Canada and Mexico.
