Nissan North America is recalling 3,065 2013 model-year Pathfinder SUVs because the internal oil cooler hose might detach from the cooler and allow transmission fluid to leak, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall affects Pathfinders manufactured from April 18, 2012, through October 3, 2012, and equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Loss of transmission fluid could cause the transmission to malfunction and the vehicle to stop accelerating, NHTSA said.

To resolve the problem, Nissan dealers will install an oil hose repair kit. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall will begin in May. Vehicle owners can reach Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
