American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 886,815 Honda Odyssey minivans from the 2005 through 2010 model years because of potential fuel leaks that pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall affects minivans manufactured June 23, 2004, through September 4, 2010. In these vehicles, the fuel pump strainer cover may deteriorate and allow fuel to leak out. This poses a fire risk.

Parts for a permanent repair aren’t yet available. Honda, however, expects the parts to reach dealers this summer. In the meantime, vehicles with leaks can receive an interim repair using a replacement cover.

Vehicle owners can reach Honda at 1-800-999-1009.
