The Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association has named its new officers for 2013. AFLA named John Dmochowsky of Mondelez International as its new president. Dmochowsky’s term will run from September 2013 to September 2014. Outgoing President Tom Callahan passed the gavel to Dmochowsky at the AFLA annual conference held September 10-13, 2013, at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“I am honored to serve as AFLA’s President,” Dmochowsky said. “I look forward to working closely with other board members to maintain and enhance the high quality of AFLA’s educational programs and member services.”

Next, AFLA named Brian Barber of LeasePlan USA as its executive vice president at the AFLA annual conference. Barber had been AFLA’s vice president. The executive vice president will become president in September, 2014, and will serve a one-year term, according to AFLA.

“It’s a real privilege and honor to be AFLA’s Executive Vice President,” Barber said. “AFLA has a strong history of great service to its members and I look forward to contributing to its mission.”

Dmochowsky, of Skokie, Illinois, is currently senior sales fleet manager for Mondelez International. He has been with Mondelez for 29 years, with the first 18 years in sales. He is responsible for overall management of Mondelez International sales fleet program for the U.S., including fleet policy administration, strategic partner relationships, management, budgeting, vehicle acquisition and disposal, driver safety, auditing, and reducing GHG emissions, according to AFLA.

Barber is currently senior vice president of sales at LeasePlan USA. He leads LeasePlan's entire new client acquisition sales, including the Strategic, National and Government sales efforts. He also sits on LeasePlan's senior management board and is a leader on multiple internal project boards and committees as well, according to AFLA.

Steve Gibson, AmeriFleet, is AFLA’s newly elected Vice President.

Continuing officers include: Tom Callahan, Donlen Corporation, Immediate Past President; Debbie Mize, Hallmark Cards, Treasurer; John Possumato, ESQ., CARS, Inc., Counsel and Edward Bobit, Bobit Business Media, Executive Director Emeritus. Newly elected Board members include: Theresa Belding, Forest Pharmaceuticals, Secretary; Kaki Langford, Director of Remarketers; Dave Durepo, Director of Dealers; Howard Katz, Director of Allied; and Terry Langness, Director of At Large. Continuing Board members include: Jim Creighton, Director of Fleet Management Companies; Brad Davis, Director of Manufacturers; and Lisa Kneggs, Director of Fleet.

“AFLA is fortunate to have such leadership, talent and solid governance in place,” Callahan noted.
