Clean Harbors Signs Agreement to Acquire Safety-Kleen

NORWELL, MA - Clean Harbors, Inc., a provider to environmental, energy, and industrial services throughout North America, has signed an agreement to acquire Safety-Kleen Inc. for $1.25 billion. Clean Harbors stated it expects to complete the acquisition by the end of the year, subject to U.S. and Canadian regulatory approval.

Safety-Kleen currently employs approximately 4,200 employees and operates a service fleet of more than 2,300 vehicles and 1,000 rail cars, according to Clean Harbors in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
