In Memoriam: Doug Horst, 1932-2012

NORTHVILLE, MI – Doug Horst, retired major accounts manager for Ford Division Fleet Operations, passed away Oct. 17 in Northville, Mich. He was 79. Horst served as major accounts manager from 1985 until his retirement in 1992.

Earlier, Horst, who had a finance background, worked for Ford Credit and Ford Division Finance Plans.

Prior to joining Ford, Horst briefly worked for GMAC.

He was actively involved in the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) and often served as a panelist.

Horst also attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Horst is survived by Lennis, his wife of more than 54 years. They had six children and 17 grandchildren. Horst and his wife were avid tennis players.
