Motorlease Corp. Named Family Business of the Year

December 11, 2007

FARMINGTON, CT – Farmington, CT-based Motorlease Corporation, one of the nation’s oldest and largest independent leasing companies, was named Family Business of the Year in the medium-sized business category in the University of Connecticut Family Business Program’s 2007 Connecticut Family Business of the Year Awards, held November 14, 2007. The Award recognizes firms that embody core family values and the best of American free enterprise. Winners were selected by a panel of judges, based on business success, positive family and business linkage, multi-generational family involvement, dynamic contributions to community and industry, and innovative business practices or strategies.

“We are pleased to be honored by the University of Connecticut’s Family Business Program,” said Jack Leary, President of Motorlease. “A long time ago, Sir Isaac Newton wrote, ‘If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants,’ and anyone who works in a family business knows what I mean about standing on the shoulders of those who came before. It is the hard work of previous generations that gives us the platform on which we build today, and enables us to continue to succeed.”

“I share this award with my father, Dan Leary, who built this business, and my sister and business partner, Beth Kandrysawtz. We would like to thank our outstanding and dedicated employees, for helping us deliver a superior product for more than 60 years, and our customers, for their loyalty and support. This award truly is the result of a team effort by our extended ‘family,’ and should be shared by all,” Leary continued.
